The Hound Of The Baskervilles

This is a classic which surpasses time. After so many movies and adaptations of this book, when you actually read it you wont regret it.

Summary
The book opens with Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Watson at his residence where a doctor comes in with a peculiar tale of a family Baskervilles who are believed to be haunted by a hound. The story is that the death of Sr.Charles Baskerville is believed to be by a hound. The doctor (dr watson) tells them the story of the abduction of a young farm girl by Hugo Baskerville(ancestor).
The doctor is now worried for the safety of Sr.Henry Baskerville, Charle's nephew and the heir to the mansion, the Hall of Baskerville who is to arrive at London from the states.
The twists and turns in the story are unexpected. Each character is important in the story, and the plot is well developed. This was the first Sherlock Holmes book i have ever read and i was awestruck by the way he solves the case
I do not want to add spoilers hence i m not revealing the plot.
The picturesque description of the moor and the country side is really good.
All the questions and doubts that arise in your mind while reading this will be answered gradually.
The only thing i could not get satisfied with was the ending. I feel Arthur Conan Doyle could have satisfied us by sending the criminal behind bars but he let's him escape, which might be quite unsettling. While one might argue that by doing so he can return in some other book and given a satisfactory ending there.
All in all this was a thriller I will always cherish

Five Little Pigs

So let me write about a book I read this year. I will try my best to keep it spoiler free

Five Little Pigs

This book is by Agatha Christie the legendary writer. If you have read her other books you would be familiar with her writing style. Poirot and Maple are the 2 protagonists. The books are series involving one of these detectives.I have read most of her books where Poirot is the protagonist. Body in the library I think was the only book I read involving Maple.
This book is a Poirot series.I wouldn't say it was awesome as I feel I have got used to Agatha Christie's writing. Her books handle a case in a slow pace and everything is figured out at the end of the book. If you are a hardcore thriller reader then you will find her books slow paced. But her books are considered classics for a reason. All the hints dropped or rather all the dots do get connected in the end and you will be awestruck if you are reading her books for the first time.
Here is a preview of this book.
Five Little pigs has the narrative of a murder that took place 16 years ago.The victim's wife is accused of killing him. She later kills herself in jail after getting convicted. The narrative is really tiring to read. As it is the same set of incidents repeated five times but with a different perspective from each person. The ending will leave you content for picking this book. I would recommend this book.
You can follow my Goodreads page for more of such reviews.

The 2 books that I m currently reading are The Other Boleyn Girl by Philipha Gregory and 16 Lighthouse Road(Cedar Cove). I will write about them once I finish reading
